TOP 5 PUBS IN TALLINN

1. Hell Hunt

The name is a bit deceptive for those of us unversed in Estonian: No this is not a death metal or biker bar. Translating in English as 'The Gentle Wolf,' Hell Hunt is the kind of no-nonsense place that is becoming so rare, it's a relief to find. Ideal for having a casual drink with your friends or getting pissed into the wee hours, the open, unpretentious atmosphere pulls in tons of locals and expats alike. Here yu'll aslo find a true Guinness as well as the pub's own brand of light and dark beers. Good and cheap.

Location: Pikk Street 39
Opening hours: Mon - Sun 12:00 - 02:00

2. Levist väljas

All the partys end in Levist Väljas. In weekends it's opened until 06:00 am. Cellar bar with broken furniture. Love it or hate it, this is a fantastic place to mingle with the laid-back locals. Must see underground bar in Tallinn at Olevimägi street. 12.

Location: Olevi street 12
Opening hours: Sun-Thurs 15:00 - 03:00, Fri - Sat 15:00 - 06:00

3. Pub With No Name

Yes, we know the whole point of travelling abroad is to experience new cultures, meet new people and to sample something different from your nightlife... But sometimes you just can't be dealing with these crazy foreigners and their crazy foreign ways! tish boWhat you want is a good old Briozer, with cheap beer and happy hour. It's opened and there's dj playing every night, it also has a little dance floor where you can feel yourself free and shake your bootie. The good thing is that this pub is quite full at nights.

Location: Suur-Karja 4
Opening Hours: Opened Sun - Thurs 10:00 - 03:00 (sometimes untill 04:00); Fri-Sat 10:00 - 05:00

4. Valli baar

One of a kind, in Tallinn at least, Valli Baar is a genuine throwback to times now gone having allegedly not changed significantly since opening 40 years ago. The city council certainly seem convinced by this story as they have recently made Valli Baar a protected site so it won't go the way of all the other survivors from that era in being refurbished and modernised.

The place itself couldn't be simpler- a rectangular room with a rectangular bar in the middle, an entrance in one corner, toilets in another and usually and accordion player in a third. Choose your drink, get it and then enjoy! Do not forget to order a drink called ''millimallikas'' heeheeee... :)
Location: Müürivahe 14, Old Town
Opening hours: Mon-Thurs 12:00-21:00, Fri - Sat 12:00 - 02:00 (in winter) .... Mon - Thurs 12:00 - 00:00, Fri - Sat 12:00 - 02:00, Sun 12:00 - 19:00 ( In summer)

5. Beer House

Beer House is the one and only restaurant in Estonia, which brews its own beer, 7 sorts, at its own micro-brewery. Recipes of our frothy drinks date back to the XVI century but the beers have won prizes at several modern beer festivals. It's a really cool place.. just order some beer and listen to Estonian beer songs.. the atmosphere is also amazing :) ..

Location: Dunkri street 5, just few steps from the Town Hall Square
Opening hours: Mon - Thurs 10:00 - 00:00, Fri - Sun 10.00 - 02:00
